Matt Hammond-Haley

Dr Matt Hammond-Haley is currently an internal medicine trainee at Kings College Hospital, London.

He has an interest in cardiology and cardiovascular science.
Dr Hammond-Haley completed his medical studies in Brighton, followed by a MSc in Cardiovascular Science at University College London, for which he was awarded a distinction and the prize for the overall highest performance. During his MSc he investigated potential mechanisms of coronary microvascular obstruction seen following myocardial infarction and reperfusion. He then completed an Academic Foundation Programme in cardiology at St Thomas’ Hospital, London, contributing to a number of academic projects in the setting of transcatheter aortic valve replacement. He also investigated the growing role of wearable technology for measuring habitual physical activity in patients with cardiovascular disease.

More recently, his work within this group has focused on examining global trends in ischaemic heart disease and cerebrovascular disease, which was presented at ESC Congress 2020.
